Two young lovers, embroiled in a fateful destiny of love, hate, life and death.
Their fateful tale will bring sorrow to their respective families, but will ultimately bring unity in their wake, at the cost of two young lives.
Shakespeare’s brilliant tragedy about two young lovers has once again been cast under the limelight at the hands of internationally recognised director Angela Pan.
She states, ‘Through my representation of Shakespeare’s ancient tale, I intend to revisit the original ideology upon which the play was based on, while also providing a renewed insight into the romantic tragedy by re-contextualising the tale in an ancient Japanese society.
In my representation, I look to represent themes of love, death and time from a renewed perspective. I hope the audience will be influenced to appreciate the fleeting nature of life, and to make the most of the short time in which we are on this earth.’
