The House of Montague

Romeo
Son of Lord Montague and Lady Capulet
The only son and heir of Montague, Romeo is a young man who exudes passion, however, can at times be impetuous and inconsiderate of the consequences of his actions. Throughout the play, Romeo pursues love, at first with an infatuation with a woman named Rosaline, whom he soon forgets after laying eyes on Juliet.
He consequently goes to great lengths to prove his love for Juliet, displaying his extraordinary passion. However, his weaknesses including impetuousness and impulsiveness soon bring grave consequences, with these tragic flaws and an ill-fated destiny, ultimately concluding the play catastrophically.

Benvolio
Romeo's cousin and friend
A samurai intent on peace, Benvolio is a close friend to Romeo and is part of the Montague household. He makes many attempts to diffuse violent situations between the houses of the Montagues and Capulets.

Lord Montague
Romeo's father, head of Montague household
Lord Montague is a daimyo and leader of the Montague household. He and his family are involved in a long-lasting feud with the Capulets, which has recently caused numerous conflicts between the two sides, and is worried about Romeo’s involvement in these disputes.

Lady Montague
Romeo's mother, wife of Lord Montague
Lady Montague is a character whom exudes calmness and tranquility. She expresses her dislike towards the violence which has been caused due to the ongoing feud between the Montagues and Capulets, much unlike her Capulet counterpart. However, her eventual demise is caused Romeo's condemnment, which ultimately causes her death from grief.
